I got 4 friends who wants to buy 4 G3s..... do you think can ask down the price?? Less den 1K per camera would be good...

anyone tried mass buying G3s??

Probably will lower a little but don't expect a lot... demand for DC is good great that the shop won't give a damn if you don't buy... Someone else will...

I am interested to get a G3 and wish to join in the MO, if there is one. Perhaps can get some extras if we order say 5 or more. Not sure who would like to lead though.

June 5 to 8 is PC show, may be Canon would be there to entice us with some extras. Keep our finger crossed.

I want to get a G3 (+ a few add-on lenses) before leaving for US at the end of May. If anyone can find a sub-1K G3 body, I'm all for joining a MO in Singapore. If not, then I'll probably buy via one of the on-line retailers in US.

Any of you have any ideas whether it's cheaper in US?

The lowest online quote from US is US$545. at an exchange rate of 1.8 that will be 545*1.8 = $981

So you might be better off buying in the states. though it may not have warranty in Singapore.
Some of the online shops in US offer free shipping in US. So shipping costs may not be a concern if you are there.

Yep... I am aware of the (sometimes infamous) e-tailers in USA. US$540-545 seems to be the cheapest price at this moment. The general advice is to just buy the body (which is cheap) and not the additional packages (for which you get skinned alive for).

For just a few tens of S$ more, I'm pretty willing to buy in Singapore where I can check out the camera for defects before buying, and get all my accessories and lenses at one go.

Is MSColor or Cathay a better place to buy G3?

Latest equote MScolor is $1070 + GST. But they might throw in some free gifts (ie. camera case, minipod, etc...)

I just check with Cathay, the price is $1063 without GST.

where is MS color ? planning to get a G3 as well.

Depending on where you are and going. You might be subject to sales tax in US. For CA, it is 8%. But, might not be better to get it there.

Then, next is that power in US is 110v. If you get it in SG, make sure your power adapter works in US. ie, auto switching.
