Default 800+ photos slideshow

Got a client who asked me to help do a photoslide show containing 800+ photos... How much would you charge?

He said that I am the expert and will take whatever... ... I am using the AD video's soundtrack as background and putting the photos in it.
Don't know how to add the surcharge. Based on effort, it may turn out to be more expensive than the AD video... Haiz...

Different job.

I did the AD and they decided that it would be good to pass the photos from the photographer to me to make it into a slide show... When I got the disk, I fainted...

Clearly it would be easy to just dump the photos and automate it. But it would not be interesting. Anyway, I still think it is impossible to hold the attention of the viewer for 40-50 mins on a slide show... headache...

I would try to fix the duration for the slideshow with the client, since this is probably the most important reqiurement. Then price the project based on duration, knowing that there are a lot of stillshots to put inside. I would not necessarily want to use all of the 800+ photos, but of course would need to scan through them to select the best and most suitable.

I totally agree, 10 minutes tops! But need to get client to agree upfront.

how about 1 frame 1 photo? Based on 25fps rate, you'll have a wonderful 32sec clip from 800 photos.

That's probably about the limit of my attention span for slideshows.

hmm.. i guess it's not for play back during the wedding dinner? is for thier own keeping in thier digital photo album or something like that?

if not it may be play back thru out as a background during the dinner? not the montages tat play b4 the first cos serve.. I have seen some people just use few tens of slides show looping thru out the whole dinner.. may be they choose not to have a loop and prefer to have diff photos in the slides show lor?? tat case use power point can liao!

well, anyway I think it is not this case to play back during the dinner as the client want TS to add sound track of the AD video to the slide show.. so probably the event is aredy over and is for thier own keeping oni lor??!!
