Hi guys, did u all notice that A70 is very sensitive to slight movement?

I notice that even for a very slight movement using Auto, shutter speed abt 1/60, A70 will not be able to produce a clear n sharp image??

I also notie that too.

Moreover in every mode other than the M mode. the A70 does not know how to set shutter speed higher than 1sec. How do we overcome this?

Thanks

higher than 1 sec? you meant slower than 1 sec right? TV mode can also set shutter from 0.3 sec to 15 sec.

Yes. I mean slower than 1 sec . maybe 3 or 4 sec.
Cos in P mode i try and it dun seem to be able to do it. In TV mode we r setting the shutter speed rite? I think can do it.
What i am trying to find out is that when i am using Av mode which i wan to preset the aperture and i wan the camera to select the rite exposure using auto setting of shutter speed. The camera does not seem to be able to set more than 1 sec exposure.

Thanks

So does that means that the Av mode does not allow the camera to set more than 1sec?

Thanks

Av mode should be able to set more than 1 sec lah.
but i think P mode cannot set shutter speed and aperture one. cos it's like auto with more effects

For P and Av modes, the longest shutter speed is 1 sec. If exposure requires longer than 1 sec, the number for shutter speed will turn red, indicating an under-exposure.

If you want to expose the shot for more than 1 sec, you can only use it with Tv or M modes.

I don't think it's the camera fault. At 1/60s, if your focal length is 60mm or more, there is a chance of camera shake, esp if you can't hold the camera firmly. This natural phenomena applies to all cameras, not just A70. You can either reduce the aperture, increase ISO, or train your hands to be more steady.

And yup, A70 in Av mode only goes up to 1s. But that is hardly a problem, you can always use Tv or M mode. Tv will be more convenient, just set to an arbitrary long shutter speed like 2s, and half-shutter. If the metered aperture fstop is not what you want, then adjust the shutter speed accordingly. Here are some night shots I took with the A70 in Tv mode: http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthrea...threadid=31821

Actually any setting above 1 second you need to have very steady hands or a tripod. I have tried shooting far objects with 5 seconds exposure, with hands resting on a ledge, it still becomes blur... so a tripod is a must-have for long exposure shots. Anyone can recommend a cheap and good one?

as I've mentioned, roughly any speed slower than 1/focal length there is a high chance of gettting camera shake. Theoretically, since A70's widest is 35mm, any speed slower than 1/35s you should find support or use a tripod, unless of course you have quite steady hands.

Yah, no matter how steady your hands are, definitely there will be some movement. Looks like tripod is still needed for night shots, since it's not all the time we can find a surface to put the camera.

even with tripod, it's advisable to use a remote or self-timer to trigger off the camera. cos the action of depressing shutter introduces movement.
