Default Canon i950 Problem

Just bought the above mentioned printer less than 2 weeks ago and now, when the printer seems spoilt, with me being unable to turn on the printer.

Not too sure where the fault lies... i'm not too sure abt printer warrenty but do i bring it back to CP where i first bought it or bring it straight to Canon's servicing centre?

Have you tried to use another power supply or usb cable to confirm?

Anyway, congrats to your purchase of a great printer!

Can call up CP to see if they do one-to-one exchange for faults detected in 14 days.
(some shops offer one-to-one for 7 day, some up to 30 days, some don't have one-to-one at all )

If not, then have to bring down to Canon service center. you need the warranty card with receipt.

Isn't the power supply cable the same as any other PC power cord? (CPU,Monitor) i.e IEC standard connector?

Yeap, it is, but in this case, the end that connects to the printer is unique..

What is the wall socket end of the power cord like?

If its a standard plastic 3 pin, you could try opening it up to see it the fuse is blown.

Or just use a multimeter and check all 3 pins on both ends for a connection reading.

Hmmm.. very very weird.... just did the test pen test BS suggested and there was a current. Plugged in the cable again in hope of a miracle and what do you know... There's power again...

This is weird....

But since it's working, i don't think i should wonder too much
Don't look the gift horse in the mouth, as they would say.

Cheers to BS/Zerstorer!

U could always give the Canon support a call for on site service. So far, the printer's working well for me.
