rolleiflex film loading help

hey guys,

i recently inherited an old rolleiflex 3,5F and the film counter isn't working. i've loaded the film as per instructions (including under the first large roller before the film gate, as mentioned by all the websites i've looked this up at). also, there is no resistance after i load the film and it just winds all the way without 'stops' between frames.

it's an old set so it's probably due to dried lubricants, broken mechanism, dirt etc. just want to ask around and see if there could be any other causes for these problems (other than disuse and improper loading) before i send it for CLA. thanks.
