    my experience with sigma singaproe is TOTALLY different.

    Made appointment to fix focus issue with 30mm f1.4. Went down, and they fixed it in one hour. I got make my lens on the SAME DAY. no hassle no pain. The tech was a very nice guy had a good chat with him somemore.

    In fact based on that experience, I am inclined to get sigma for lens with large aperture as the calibration process is so painless

    Mine experience with them was good.
    I bought a used SD9 camera 3 months ago and having problem downloading their Raw Converter onto my iMac.
    The 2 guys from the workshop were extremely helpful and patience. Went there twice with the same problem and on the second visit they call Sigma Japan right away to solve the software issue.
    I also mentioned that I was interested in a few lens and immediately they took them out from their store for me to do some test shots. They even call me a few days later to check if the software is working ok.
    Needless to said I was impressed by their attitude and prompt service.


    Maybe just one of those bad days.

    How much did the lens cost? Also, maybe you can check the Warranty's Terms and Conditions to see if they exclude liability for products which are supposedly "out of production".

    So it seems we need to make an appointment before heading down straight

    Both occasions i went down without making an appointment

    So i guess this is the thing sigma owners need to know.

    like i was saying, if they can repair it, you will have a good experience, however if cannot be repaired and management has to make a decision on what to do, then the fun begins. they do need a shake up. i go there too and the door is locked, no one to open. anyway, the techs are good, but cannot fix everthing. it really is a management problem and until your problem gets to that point you will think the service center is good...but if the techs cannot fix...mangement will surely break whatever patience you had when you walked in.

    actually anyone knows how big the market is in Singapore for Sigma? if it is big enough, a joint petition of some sort going directly to the Japan head office might do alot of good

    sIGMA USER 10 YEAR AGO i face the same probblem, now still the same , wonder they can live till today .... the counter girl D`ont know is the same one a not .... them ****-up ,Blame the camera mfg. got no standerd to match their lens ...
