    Default feedback for newbie's photos

    hi guys, im totally new to photography and hoping that you guys can shed some light and feedback for me.

    here are some of my first shots.

    camera used was canon 5D with 35 1.4L. rented to shoot graduation ceremony from rockscar18

    some advice on composition and technique please?

    wow! newbie using a 5D! even alot of pros also dun use it... lucky guy!

    yr 2nd shot is not bad..

    oh sorry, the second shot is on 400D.

    the rest on 5D.

    2nd pic I think you should watch the verticals.. I would probably move forward for better framing.

    #1 Looks a bit uninteresting, there isn't anything in the picture to hold the viewer's attention.

    #2 Generally okay, but a bit over-exposed on the Memorial, it's whiting out already.

    #3 I like this one somewhat. The picture has a compressed feel to the depth of field. Makes it look like one of those taken with a tilt and shift.

    #4 Can tell the focus is on the insignia, but what exactly is the thing it's on? A better positioning will have been better.

    for ur fourth pic, maybe u can remove the metallic object in frt of ur subject coz it is distracting. heez

    the blurred background is a distraction because of the colours? ok thanks noted.

    i think ur pictures are good, except for the last one bought the metal object mentioned, yea it is kinda distracting.
