Default Anyone with Bronica cameras?

Hi guys,

I was considering getting a simple bronica set to bring abroad (so that if I damage it I won't feel as bad). Was considering the Bronica SQ-A or the Ai. Will prob only use a 50mm and 80mm.

Anyone has any experiences with them?

Thanks!
Ervine

MF system cameras are heavy.

I have had ETRSi, GS-1, as well as Hasselblad 500cm and Mamiya-7.

Consider an MF rangefinder for travel. More compact and lighter, with leaf shutter lenses.
e.g. Mamiya-6 , 7, Bronica 645RF.

Yup, I was considering a Mamiya 6 actually, but there are none available in Singapore.

Also, I think it's considerably more pricey than a bronica MF.

Bronica RF will be even harder to find than the Mamiya right?

I own the ETRSi, pretty solid. But for travelling with MF, I'll recommend a MF RF like the Mamiya 7 or the Fujica GA645, etc. Or, a TLR is quite cool too.

Support for Bronica these days is a bit iffy, esp. the exotic models like 645RF.
Mamiya is a safer bet.
The Fuji 645 is also a good buy at a low cost, but no interchangeable lenses.

There are many other cheap alternatives e.g. Kowa... but you will have to do some research.

Dude, for travelling you have a 4x5 Crown Graphic too...

TLRs are a good alternative . agreed.

mamiya 6 is 6x6 camera.
mamiya 7 is 6x7 camera.
mamiya 7ii is improved version (added double exposure etc).
its a battle of the formats.

I saw one at TCW the other day (earlier this week). I can't recall if it's the GA645, but it's definitely a Fujifilm, and it's definitely 645.

Hey ervine....I'm experiencing the same problem as well. Have been looking around for the Mamiya 6 but nobody seems to be selling it off in Sg. Only on Ebay.

I have a set of SQ-Ai. Go for the PS lens - the quality is fantastic!
