Default Blue Cross

This may have worked with a standard camera, I do not know, but I used my IR converted Fuji camera and I am sure its IR capabilities added to the image. Maybe the Fuji has some particular properties of its CCD which contributed to the effect. I took the original at a local war memorial known as the Mount Soledad Cross with my camera set for black and white. The original, uncropped but resized image:

I like to tint my BW IR shots and did that on this one too along with a little cropping. Then I decided to see what would happen if I tried to go into the hue/saturation and up the saturation. That started to show these halos which I was not that happy with at first but decided to see what would happen if I pushed it further. In Photoshop I moved the saturation slider all the way to the right and the halos became much more defined. Now I think it is kind of neat on this shot and moved on to the hue slider which I ultimately slid all the way to the left (I liked the blue color best). Some adjustments for levels and here you go. Experiments can yield fun results and IR pretty much encourages experimentation since nobody truely knows what it is supposed to look like since our eyes cannot see it.

There are both very nice and good experiment you had gone through. Cool.
Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the comments. Again not truely an IR shot although it does darken the skies nicely (shooting towards the sun a polarizer would not achieve the same effect) as well as added a bit of glow to the cross itself (in the center spaces). Just something for fun! Maybe some religious card printing place might like it.
