    erm... mind me for my ignorance... how come upload speed is greater than download speed? i thought it's always the other way around

    Actually all, Singnet, Starhub, M1, PacNet all unreasonable their T&Cs are too one-sided. For the common man there is no way around it they are too big to amend their T&Cs to make it fair. This is where I feel CASE and other bodies should intervene with a fair practise regulations.

    Many MNCs negotiate the T&Cs as most of Singapore Service Providers T&Cs will be thrown out by them.

    We are still lagging behind... tsk tsk tsk.

    still bind by contract then no choice.. i think i know why Don wants to preterminate

    in this case, just continue the contract.. how many mths left ? or you see if anyone wants to take up your line (transfer fee S$40) ? else just grit your teeth, pay and sua sua ki..

    Siao, who wants just the line. Like I sign contract with my telco. I get the free phone, then ask who wants to take up my line, like that.

    depends on what freebie that Don gotten. but family or close frens sometimes wont mind. but seriously, since when singNET gave freebies ? mayb jus some 'free' emails or others, which many conveniently forgot to omit until the bill came later and we got charged, and paid up anyway. not siao lah, really have

    then i got fibbed .... i didnt get any freebie when i signed up last year leh

    anyway best is Don continue to pay till the term ends.. thats why it's contract. freebie or not, we're bound by it.........dont like the sound of it but really no choice... not worth it also ..

    Not sure if SingNet still practice it. < 2yrs ago I asked them to terminate my account (no more contract), they said that they need 1 month to do so, what a joke in this modern world.

    When I was asking for the termination, they already sent me the bill for the following month, so I asked them if I could pay them after the termination since the next month only cover a few days. They said they would charge me penalty for late payment and also mentioned that I should pay first to avoid penalty and that they will refund the balance. So, just pay lor and wait for refund. Know what happen, they didn't refund me after 3 months, so called them again and they said they don't refund unless I called them. What a joke again, we will be fine for late payment and they can don't refund you unless you call.

    So NO MORE Singnet or Singtel services, hand phone, house phone, cable and broadband all out. Funny thing is that I still own SingTel shares.

    If someone didn't blow your cover you'd still be loudly proclaiming that Singnet is faster than Starhub.

    You should quote them and write an complaint email to the CEO demanding a clear explanation. Also charge them interest on the outstanding amt similar to the intereste or penalty they charge...

    if they failed to responds to you by so n so date... write to the press...

    my recent bad experience...

    i got offered for upgrade of plan prior to my contract ending in dec...
    i am currently on 3500 plan they give me options to upgrade to 6000 now

    i refer to singnet website, the current 6000 promo is with free 4 mths subscription...
    however my option to upgrade do not include the free 4mth.... wth...
    4 mths is 200 dollars... leh
    if i dun bother to check up... i would ve been losing 200 dollars.

    is singtel actively conning its loyal customer or is it becos of ignorant marketing pple?

    anyway, slightly out of topic here, but this was a little incident which happened to me in the us. my house uses sbc(at&t) for almost everything, basically the internet, internet fax and telephony. however, i find myself not using the fax quite often, so i called in to them to cancel my internet fax service. i got into a conversation something like that:

    Me: Hi. i would like to cancel my internet fax service.
    sbc: sure sir, may i know why you would like to cancel this service with us?
    Me: well, i find myself not using very often.
    sbc: i see. would you still stay with us if i decrease the price to _____(i forgot the price)?
    Me: *thinking: i really dun use that service alot, no point wasting money even if cheaper*
    Me: sorry, i still wish to cancel the service. i dun use it often.
    sbc: how about one dollar per month?
    Me: ................... *coughz* huh? i beg your pardon?
    sbc: would you stay with this service if i reduce the price to one dollar per month?
    Me: erm........... did you say one dollar per month?
    sbc: yes.
    Me: if that's the case................. ok! sure! why not?
    sbc: thank you sir, please hold on while i get the authority from my superior.
    waits.........
    sbc: ok, your subscription fee for internet faxing is now 1 dollar per month.
    me: ok.*still abit shocked* thanks.



    and when my father recieved the bill, he told me.........it indeed has been decrease to 1 dollar.



    i'm still shocked...............
