Thread: Suitable quick-release head for Slik Sprint Pro?

Default Suitable quick-release head for Slik Sprint Pro?

Am currently using the Slik Sprint Pro and I find it really troublesome to have to screw my cam in and out of the original ball head.

Visited CP for a suitable quick release BALL head but all of them are way too big for the tripod.

Are there any smaller ones available that matches the Sprint Pro?

Besides that, may I have some recommendations on a more sturdy (the Sprint Pro is too flimsy for the F717 although it's perfect for the v3) tripod that offers about the same dimensions as the Sprint Pro when folded and fully extended?

The specs for the Sprint Pro is :
Maximum Operating Height: 78.75 in. / 1,447 mm
Minimum Operating Height: 23.22 in. / 590 mm
    Folded Length: 40.95 in. / 1,040 mm
    Weight: 13.90 lbs. / 6,300 grams
    Maximum Load: 22.00 lbs. / 9,980 grams

    Thank you!

is that the Slik Sprint Pro GM? specs seems to be wrong. A 6.3kg tripod that supports 10 kg should be good enough for the 717.

Not too sure if the specs fit..
Though the weight of the tripod certainly doesn't feel like 6kg...
Specs were taken straight from website..

The U8000/9000 somehow do not appeal to me. Thanks though.

    Any other recommendations please?

    These should be the specs:

    Maximum Height 64.3" (163.5 cm)
Minimum Height 6.3" (16.2 cm) [when used with short column]
    Folded Length 18.9" (48 cm)
Load Capacity 4.4 lb (2 kg)
    Leg Sections 4
    Leg Lock Type Flip levers
    Independent Leg Spread Yes
    Center Column Sections 2
Center Column Type Sliding (Reversible, with tension control)
    Center Brace No
    Spiked Feet Yes
    Head Type Ball Head
    Head Mount Thread Size 1/4"-20
    Weight 1.9 lb (860g)

I'm using Manfrotto 323QR adaptor. Probably costs $30 or so.

323 is a quick release adaptor. It fixes onto any ballhead including the one that come with Slik Sprint Pro GM. I have the Slik Sprint Pro GM but got another head for use with it (Kaiser 6916 or something like that).

    Appreciate that very much!
Didn't realise there are quick release adapters out there!
Did a search and manage to have a good look @ it.
Did you get it from CP?

Unfortunately, got no luck searching for Kaiser.

    Thank you!

should be 6016 but this does not come with a quick release ballhead. I'm using the Manfrotto 323QR with it.
