Default The Caterpillar (Lime Butterfly)

This caterpillar of the Lime Butterfly is ready to go on to its next stage of development. It is a fully developed caterpillar (final instar) that is ready to change into a pupa or chrysalis. It is resting on a half-eaten leaf of my tangerine plant. It will next find a suitable spot where it is unlikely to be disturbed in order to pupate.

The blue spot in the first pic does not fit in well. For the 2nd shot, maybe a little more DOF would be better?

Megaweb,
Nice shot of this caterpillar. However, this is not the caterpillar of the Lime Butterfly but is that of the Tailed Green Jay.

You wrote that "It is resting on a half-eaten leaf of my tangerine plant." Did it actually feed on Tangerine plant ? I am curious because its normal host plant are Soursop and Chempaka (belonging to Annonaceae family) and I have not come across them feeding on plant from the Citrus family !

Regards
Gan

You are welcome. I am still curious if the cat feeds on your Tangerine plant ?

Then the plant is Chempaka and not Tangerine.

Thanks
