This caterpillar of the Lime Butterfly is ready to go on to its next stage of development. It is a fully developed caterpillar (final instar) that is ready to change into a pupa or chrysalis. It is resting on a half-eaten leaf of my tangerine plant. It will next find a suitable spot where it is unlikely to be disturbed in order to pupate.

The blue spot in the first pic does not fit in well.
For the 2nd shot, maybe a little more DOF would be better? |

Nice shot of this caterpillar. However, this is not the caterpillar of the Lime Butterfly but is that of the Tailed Green Jay. You wrote that "It is resting on a half-eaten leaf of my tangerine plant." Did it actually feed on Tangerine plant ? I am curious because its normal host plant are Soursop and Chempaka (belonging to Annonaceae family) and I have not come across them feeding on plant from the Citrus family ! Regards Gan |

You are welcome. I am still curious if the cat feeds on your Tangerine plant ?
