Why would the Daily Mail still refer Myanmar as Burma and its city, Yangon as Rangoon. Still a case of colonial mind set?

Back to main topic - is atrocious that the military junta is resorting to dumping the bodies into the jungle to keep the body count away from the media. Seems that they are doing all that is needed to stay in control/power.

not sure bout the names...i have the tendency to call it Burma too. heh
If its just news, but now with photos of the atrocities....its rather disturbing that they are willing to blackout all news to do their deeds.

Most pro-democracy people tend to use Burma, because they don't recognise the name change initiated by the junta. Myanmar and Burma are actually the same thing. Burma's the spoken term that the Burmese use, while Myanmar is the formal writing form.

Burmese use these two names quite interchangably. The BBC and other pro-democratic media uses Burma too. The UN recognises both.

Another "Killing Fields" in the making. How sad, we do not need another movie two years later to know the truth.
