My medium format is 100% mechanical.
any flash with automated metering available ? or m i stuck with manual flash ? thanks in advance. |

you camera does not support ttl, but able to shoot with flash auto mode.
almost all hammer flash units, hotshoe flash units manufactured after 70's do have auto and manual mode. you have many choices of flash. |

so there is a sensor on the flash to cut its output when it deemed the exposure is correct ?

yes, the "sensor" is call auto thyristor.

To be frank some time TTL made matter worse. Most of the time I am very happy with metz on to my hassy and setting auto without TTL. You just need to set the same aperture on the flash and camera.
