Please don't murder me for asking this question... (if you see my signature, you know I super pro Sony one)
I am considering getting either the P150/200 or the Canon G3/5 as a compact camera to complement my A100 for travelling. Reason: I am going to modify the compact for pure IR photography. Question for all Sony Kakis: Objectively speaking, other than the fact that the P150/P200 have much higher MP count, is it worth paying the higher price for the Sony as compared to the Canon G cameras?

Different functionality too, man. Canon G-series is prosumer, and the sony P-series is PnS. Better just get a sony H9 and no need to modify.

Saw how easy it is to dismantle the G3/G5 to replace the LPF and also having successfully done so with a P series camera (although older model) so really want to try... Canon G-series prosumer means better pics than Sony P series? ![]() Price of G3 comparable to P150 and Price of G5 comparable to P200... ![]() only major diff is the MP count... 5MP vs 7 MP... but then the sensor similarly small... ![]()
