Although I owned a D2X for about 2 years or more, I haven't really done any super long exposures. 10 mins and stuff like that are the norm for me. I mean those super long ones like maybe 45 mins to an hour? More than an hour and the batteries might be flat. Reason why I asked is that before I bought my D2X, I read about some reviews where D2X is capable of very long exposures where previously it is only attainable with films.
My curiosity got the hold of me. I haven't had the luxury to try it out as it is still very bright almost anywhere in Singapore for an hour exposure, even with aperture closed down. Been thinking of trying in Pulau Ubin since I frequent there. So has anyone tried it before? Or has heard of someone who has? Thanks ![]() |

I think Francis247 had tried using a Quantum 2x2 to power up his camera for long exposure shots, you can check with him on the usage of that. |

Thanks for the tip. Actually my question has more to do with the sensor being able or not to cope with long exposure than the battery issue.

I dun think so... the sensor of a D2Xs is much better than the D200 and they have used the D200 for night star trails...
