You see there is an img code below each image in photobucket, just copy and paste it here.

Anyway, they look ok to me, just that some of the images has some motion blur. 10MP is not very forgiving especially if you view at 100%.

it depends on also the in-camera sharpening setting, you can adjust it upwards a little under custom options

at the same time, were the pictures snapped on AFC? or S?

seen a few of your pictures, they are taken in shutter priority, i.e. at 1/800, or some at manual on 1/100s F5.6

you can actually up the ISO a little, iso 400+ is fine in broad day light, your shutter speed goes faster and have better chance of freezing motion, unless you want to pan, that will be a little more challenging.

I agree... more like motion blur or shallow DOF.

So in this kind of sporting event, we should use AFC ?

depending. sometimes AFC will not focus on where you want or as fast as you want. so some people prefer to anticipate and use single shot af.

The 70-200IS is already 2 stops faster, so he could actually use a higher shutter speed and that would probably have made the difference. Plus, mkii is full frame. At 200mm, you would shooting an equivalent field of view of a 300mm. So your magnification is already 1.5x higher.

Don't forget also, VR/IS can prevent blur from camera shake due to a lower shutter speed but it cannot freeze your subject.

To freeze motion of subject, try shutter speed mentioned at this thread

Subject speed = 2-3 mph (typical adult walking speed)
Distance 10ft : 1/250 seconds
Distance 25ft : 1/125 seconds
Distance 50ft : 1/60 seconds
Distance 100ft : 1/30 seconds
Distance 200ft : 1/15 seconds

Subject speed = 10-15 mph (typical adult running speed)
Distance 10ft : 1/1000 seconds
Distance 25ft : 1/500 seconds
Distance 50ft : 1/250 seconds
Distance 100ft : 1/125 seconds
Distance 200ft : 1/60 seconds

Subject speed = 30 mph (typical pony galloping speed)
Distance 10ft : 1/2000 seconds
Distance 25ft : 1/1000 seconds
Distance 50ft : 1/500 seconds
Distance 100ft : 1/250 seconds
Distance 200ft : 1/125 seconds

Subject speed = 100-200 mph (typical race car speeds)
Distance 50ft : 1/2000 seconds
Distance 100ft : 1/1000 seconds
Distance 200ft : 1/50 seconds
