Nikkor 18-200mm VR lens with dot sound

Hi Guys, Just brought a new lens above. note that when focusing with VR on.The lens having dot.dot sound.Tried switched it off the VR. No sound..It that normal..??
Anyone have this problem too??

No worries... that is normal... it is the VR at work.

Ya, if you don't have the dot. sound, then you should start worrying cos with the sound, it is indicating that the VR mechanism inside the lens are working properly.

Another way to test is to zoom at 200mm, take a sample picture, one with the VR on and other with the VR off. You will be able to see the difference. Don't worry too much, I was also worried the fist time I use it. Trust me.

nikon should really put a note with the lens telling people about this.

Electronic VR, as found in some Coolpix models, will be completely slient.
