i have always felt that the viewfinder for 400D is very small so i decided to see if there is any hack or workabout to increase the viewfinder size. did a yahoo, and voila!
a 400D user online bought a Nikon DK-21M viewfinder magnifier and it was a perfect fit on his 400D. it increased the viewfinder and was perfect. the only downside is that it is not suitable for people with glasses as they can not get their eye very near the viewfinder hence not being able to see everything in the viewfinder. wasn't a problem for me so i bought the Nikon DK-21M. And it works!!! btw i bought the DK-21M from OP $48 ![]() |

I use an "OLYMPUS ME-1 MAGNIFYER EYECUP E-300/330/500". (1.2x)
It fits perfectly on my 350D and without wearing glasses I can barely see the corners. And it's only a few milimeters larger than the original eyecup. There is a Nikon version (1.15x) that also fits Canon rebels. got the above from the canon forums |

just as long as you're not wearing glasses. when u fit it onto your 400D you've gotta adjust the little dial at the side of the viewfinder until it becomes infocus. hope that helps. |

I have both the Nikon and Oly one for my ex-350D. The Oly one is more expensive, but is much better than the Nikon one. I think they use better glass elements compared to Nikon's. Nikon's one feels like plastic elements. I could be wrong though
