Checking out the SR on the K100DSuper, so took some random shots around Chinatown and Esplanade a few days ago. All with 18-55 kit lens or Sigma 70-300.
See the caption for shutter speed ![]() #1 ![]() #2 ![]() #3 ![]() #4 ![]() |

skypacker, good selection of pictures.
I dare say K100D and K10D (and now K100D Super) owners have been so accustomed to the benefits of Shake Reduction that shooting handheld with low shutter speeds is becoming the norm.

Erenon,
Thanks to Pentax SR, not my hands. LOL Do I sound like an ad for Pentax ![]() ![]() True, Creampuff. These are only some of the pics I have shot at lower speeds that day. More came out quite well...it's confidence inspiring to n00bs like me without expensive fast lenses that something can still be shot under difficult conditions. I thought SR was mostly hype, but now I am a Pentax believer. Three cheers for Pentax SR.! Now do I sound like a Pentax ad yet? ![]() |

speak of the devil, man - we were just talking about this last night!was sharing with dennis last night that sr is quite a godsend in many situations, not only when tripod is not easily used or can't be used in particular this situation that happened recently on punggol beach, was shooting with another brand's user (brand shall not be named, but seeing how only so many companies have not put in-body SR in their list of priorities, you can easily limit it to 2?).. i could shoot close to the rocks near the water because got sr, even when sunset with gnd on still can handhold easily - use of tripod in this case is really quite impossible unless you have a waterproof cover, or think that your camera likes saltwater whereas the other poor guy was confined to shooting on the sand ![]() do i sound like a pentax ad? this is the thing that pentax needs to advertise, along with the superb colour, etc; not a camera sitting amidst silly red light trails on taxis and buses. if it could speak it would probably blubber in confusionLast edited by night86mare; 25th September 2007 at 08:25 PM. |

Unfortunately many people in the C & N camps are so enamored or taken in by lens stabilization that they don't know this secret advantage of Pentax. To me in-body SR is a HUGE advantage, especially in terms of saving money and shooting in low light or keeping the ISO down. Stabilization for any and every lens... what a great idea!!!

Nice pics.
SR is a big reason why i chose Pentax, esp as i am used to Panasonic's excellent OIS. |

Don't think I've seen a sparrow so close up before! Makes it look like a toy! Great shot! |

Wow! Inspiring shots! Must go out and play with my K100D in low light one of these days. Was impressed with my previous Panasonic FZ20 and Ricoh R4 image stabilisation (steady down to 1/4 sec at widest angle), that's why I went for Pentax with inbuilt SR instead of Nikon or Canon.
I noticed Pentax also has very decent quality ISO 3200 - once I forgot to reset it and only realised they were a bit noisy when I looked at the photos on my computer screen. On the LCD can't see any noise at all. Two thumbs up for Pentax for providing true "double level" image stabilisation in a DSLR at such a low price! |

The shots look great!
If you zoom into the details using the PC, do you find that they are still sharp? |
