Hi...
I'm new to dslr and my 400d (bought around Comex time). Most of time, I am able to take a 2nd shot immediately after the 1st. I'm not using burst mode here. But sometimes, I could not take the 2nd shot immediately. When that happens, I noticed a "busy" signal in the viewfinder and LCD. Sometimes this "busy" signal can stay for around 2to 4 seconds. I can't seem to notice any trend in this. Just random. Could it be my CF card? Or is it my camera itself? Any hints/tips/advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

It could be due to several reasons like slow CF card. The other thing is if you use longer exposure, it will take longer for the camera to process the image. Try setting image at raw and do a shot .5 sec long, you see what i mean.

IIRC, only with exposures 1 sec and longer will cause the 'busy' sign to appear. This is because the long exposure noise reduction only kicks in with exposures one sec and longer.

Perhaps the flash capacitor is charging or the flash is in "protection" after a few consecutive full blasts.

Using Ridata 150x 4 Gb and 8 GB cards.
Don't shoot long exposure shots frequently. No problems. |

After some trials during the past week, yes, it appears to be the consequtive use of built-in camera flash (about 4 consequtive shots I think). I hope that is normal?? ![]() But if that's normal, then comes my next question: Does that mean I need to get an external flash now? ![]() |

actaully for the flash recharging..you can override it by closing the flash once then popping it back up.. But it's only for one shot so u need to repeat the process if u want it to flash again..
But i guess it's not reccomended as it might blow the bulb =x If you use flash that often, then get a flashgun =)) Shoot more, Learn more! ^^ |
