Default is card reader important

or just use the usb from yr camera to Pc?
wat the transfer rate of card reader Vs yr Camera to Pc?

First of all, it spares the batteries.

Next, nowadays the newer Card Readers are based on USB 2.0 or Firewire and unless you cam supports these interfaces directly.

yes... depend on it with my life!

it's really convienient and fast.. especially if you've got a FW reader...

also, if you're planning to take alot of pics one faithful day with limited number of CF cards, with the help of a laptop, you could actually transfer the pics to ur comp on the spot!

somebody told me before that using the onboard usb port to transfer the pictures out, will kill the pcb within the camera earlier - but it's bullshit... teeheehee... after all, you can't overclock your camera, can you?

I also use the card reader like a thumbdrive.. to copy large files from office to home and vice versa..

yes, me too. it's very much more convenient than using a zip disk and finding out that the Z-tracks have been corrupted on it, then it's a GONE CASE. this is with reference to the Click of Death syndrome some iomega products have been known to affect them.

Can recommend a card reader to me. Would like to use my Cf card like a thumb drive too.

nothing to recommend, really. anything that supports USB2.0 and your CF (or all 6 major formats) would be handy.

Im using this 6 in 1 mem card reader. I bought it for 29 dollars in Simlim last month. So far I dont encounter any problem with it.
