Test Roll: Smena 8M

This set, not a series, are actually test shots using a Smena 8M that my
fren found. He dare not try it...so i tried it.

The condition of the Smena 8M is horrible, but shutter is working. Lens mouldy
and scratches. I send the test roll for dev, print and scan. The result was..bad.
Very misty with lost of punchy colours. Therefore, i decided to use photoshop
to find only black point (using Level) in each image. And this is what i got.

Film: Kodak Ultramax 400
scan: at a shop in Toa payoh (over sharpened scans actually, bad but still ok)

yup...he found it among some junk that someone throw...he saw a leather camera case, he opened it and the smena 8m was still inside.
he took it and ask me to try it. So, i try lah. But i got to get it clean somehow, esp the lense. Picts from the test roll are not contrasty at all.

hey soft focus portrait lens in the sunlight is what im thinking when i look at number 2...

ya ya...i agree...

i'm hopring to get the lens clean...hoping to get back the colour punch and contrasty results that the Smena lens get.

The was a CSer who had a lomo with a special defect, gave funny halos.

haha...u got a point. A fren of mind was telling me to try b/w. She said might get dreamy effect.

i would say leave it as it is. as long as its working, as long as the pics turn out better than ok, as long as its still fun, its a keeper.
