hi all,
been reading thru various threads and found that often, you all mentioned that u find Sigma lenses need to be bought to Sigma service center for calibration. So i was wondering, how to see or any signs to note to find out that the lenses need calibration? Btw, anyone here uses the Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 EX DC? if yes, how does it compare to Zuiko 14-54? Hope i not repeating post as i dun seems to find a thread that talk abt these 2...but if i am, do let me know. Thanks. ![]() |

if you have a E510/E330/E410, the easiest way is to take a couple of shots using AF, then take some more shots by using MF from live view 10x. compare. If you find that the MF is significantly sharper than your AF shots, then its time to bring it down to Sigma.

I'll second that thought. I was disappointed with this Sigma lens. I thought it would be better than the 14-45 kit lens but i was wrong. However, the larger aperture is nice in some cases. My next purchase will be the Oly 14-54 because of the better optics and larger range of zoom.

not forgetting that the 14-54 has an advantage of 4mm in the wide range which I find is already a good reason for getting it... how about weather seal and a decent macro capability of this lens... Although I have used the sigma before..

I using 18-50mm sigma. I just love it anyway, dont care what the reviews people say. You try then you know. but of course I agree the 14-54 is of course better but with a bit higher price to pay.
I might probably be getting the most awaited 12-60mm too just like blur boi. Hehehe

Look around in the used market. there should be a few coming out.
A thing I would miss in the 18-50 is the A/MF switch. It sure helps in Panorama photography. AF then switch to MF and continue the series.
