There are several Pentax 50mm macro lenses: Takumar M42 50/4 macro, SMC M 50/4 macro, A 50/2.8 macro, F 50/2.8 macro, FA50/2.8 macro, DFA 50/2.8 macro. All these macro lenses are very good. But do suggest you to go with A/F/FA/DFA ones on a dSLR camera. It's alot easier to use a macro lens w/ A setting.

creampuff has the FA50/2.8. I myself had the A50/2.8, F50/2.8, FA50/2.8, all are excellent. My favorite is the A50/2.8 macro (not a 1:1 macro, but it's a beauty as is ).

Yes I have the FA50/f2.8. Very useful 1:1 macro lens that's pretty versatile. I use it a lot for closeup product shots because it offers a good working distance. Extremely sharp lens, way sharper than a normal 50mm and optimised for flat field reproduction, which means you can use it for copying and you'll get sharp, no distortion images from centre to edge.

I agree with fengwei the A50/2.8 is much more solid and nicer looking. AF for macro alone isn't too much of an advantage but it allows the lens to be used for quick general purpose shots. Having an A setting is definitely recommended. The angle of view may be a little too wide for insect macros but for product shots and closeups of objects and flowers, it is unmatched. I'm definitely keeping mine.
