I was in Finland last Aug. and I encountered a problem of my E500 (half year old only).
when i press the flash button, the build-in flash suppose to pop-up itself. I only can hear a click noise but the flash can not be pop-up. if i shake a while, the flash can pop-up itself. this happened many times when i was in Finland. (the temperature there was around 10-15C) when i came back to Singapore, i called the Olympus service center and want to check what happened. before i go, i think better to check it again myself. amazingly, the function is ok. i test many times and all ok. so i am wandering whether the temperature and humidity play important roles on this issue! anyone got same experience? thanks! I actually live in Sweden, but almost never used the pop-up flash outdoors. Do you mean 10-15 deg C (plus) or you mean minus 10 to minus 15 deg Celsius. I have used my E-500 below minus 18 deg. C and never encountered any problems. The camera is not made for below zero according to the manual, but I believe people manage to use it anyway. Anyway, I usually give up before the camera, since my fingers are freezing long before the camera.

Sorry for being OT...
How can one use a digital camera in sub zero condition? Are there any special camera glove in the market? The buttons are small and a gloved hand can't even feel the shutter 1/2 press let alone change settings.

The reply to this has been moved to http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=312263 since it was a little off topic here.

Think you still can...pop the camera into the freezer for 1/2 hr then try it.

would cause a problem.BTW, I don't think the temperature was higher than +10 deg C today, this morning, when I was driving to work, my car showed +3 deg C, so it won't take many days (maybe three weeks maximum) before it is below freezing in my garden.
