Default Scanners at SAFRA

Does anyone know if the film scanners at SAFRA are able to scan 120 film (6x6)? Thanks.

A friend told me they have a Nikon Coolscan 9000, I believe that will allow you to scan 120.

Don't take my word for it though, call to ask.

Thanks. Called them and they were extremely helpful. They said that their scanners are able to scan medium format negatives and that the enlargers accommodate medium format too.

Members of the photo club pay $2 each time they use the digital darkroom.

u guys think its nice to charge? I get turned off by the charge since i pay to join the club and hve to pay for transport there to use it. not sure where the funds for the scanners are from but dun think chargin $2 gets the money back for the equipment..

i know last time when nikon's office at hoy fatt road have coolscan for rental onsite to do your scanning. not sure if the model supports 120 format. now they move to anson dunno if they still keep providing the service. you can try calling them up to check.

alternatively, labs like KT or konota may be able to send out or do it in-house for you. call and check.

I'm pretty cool with the $2 cos even with all the additional cost like transport etc, it still beats forking out over $2k for the same scanner. Plus I don't have to worry about my scanner breaking down!

Good thing is that for members, the chemicals, darkroom and enlargers are FOC. So I think it's a pretty good trade off.

Yup, that's right. The darkroom is free for members, chemicals no charges. I think that's a pretty gd deal already. Studio rentals are also on the cheap. $42 for 3hrs. Studio proficiency required thou.

yah i complain about the scanner but the darkroom use with foc chemicals is definitely value for money. I guess that's where the $2 goes towards.

are you the same andy from safra?
