Default Vuescaned Slides are too Red

I cant get vuescan to work properly. The scanned pics looks good inside of vuescan but the tif files are way too dark and have a red cast on them. Even if i scan a transparent film, it appears white in the vuescan window but the tif file created is dark pink. Have i not set up some option in vuescan ?

Sounds more like you haven't gamma corrected (calibrated) your monitor.

If you're using Photoshop 6 or higher go in to windoze control pannel and click on the adobe gamma icon and do the corrections there.

That should improve the way Vuescan looks.

If it doesn't then pay particular attention to selecting the correct film type.
