Hmm well...if you're going there for transit, perhaps you would be in a better position to find out some up-to-date prices for us? =p

Don't bother buying at the airport. They are not selling them cheap.

buying stuff at the airport is only if you:
A) have loads of time to kill and got nothing better to do B) have loads of $$$ to spare coz the prices are far higher than city prices(even compared to challenger etc) C) can't be bothered browsing in the city or will not have the time to do so....but beware this is gonna cost you in terms of more $$$ spent at the airport on the same item or you may not even find the very latest stuff there. The shops there work on high margins due to heavy rentals and profit sharing with CAAS, so it's common knowledge their pricing is way uncompetitive. if u still prefer to do so....all the best. ![]() |

well you could hope that you get some bad service while in transit, kick up a fuss and demand for shopping vouchers from customer service to fund your e510 in the airport

that's a fundamentally wrong notion...because Singapore has duties on Liquor, wines, beer & tobacco only. So only these categories are duty free strictly speaking at the airport and therefore cheaper. The rest of the items are only GST free i.e. 7% only which is anyways nothing compared to the high margins the stores there need to charge due to higher overheads/rentals etc....the city shops are cheaper for these items due to their competitive pricing. trust you get it now...!?

the only things cheaper in airport is tobacoos and wines. the price is much cheaper than other international airports (eg. Japan, USA, EU countries etc, i have been there times.) if you like you can buy these stuffs.
