Not a macro shot. Taken at SBG in the afternoon. No flash.

Thanks. I placed a thick black canvas/cloth 2 feet behind the flower. There was sunlight falling onto the flower which made it glow or stand out against the black canvas.

I think this effect should not be difficult to reproduce without the black canvas / cloth, if you have selected the background carefully, the background can be black out with ease. PS: There's a patch in your background, maybe u would like to clone away. |

very nice shot. thanks for sharing.
I have seen people doing the same thing ( putting a cardboard behind a flower ), the person was using a white cardboard on a RED flower. He had made it look like a bookmark after some cropping. Hope to see more ...keep posting.. |

Ingenious! I have taken this flower b4 but this shot really put mine to shame. Fantastic and thanks for sharing a new way to inject new life to photos.
