Where to buy dslr in HK?

I had been browsing through the forum and most bros recommending buying from Wing Shing. However, is there any reputable camera shops on HK island itself? I am going to HK next week and staying at Causeway Bay area. Quite far to go to WS at MongKok. I am looking to buy either 400D or 40D! TIA!

Its not very far to travel from the island 10-15 mins ride the most, take the MRT there la easy and cheap. There is more shops on the mainland and prices tends to be cheaper too

thanks bro for the advice...i will be there on a biz trip and work till quite late...dun really want to lug my office gear across to Mongkok and back to causeway Bay...hence looking for some place nearer to buy...

You can check out price here then any shop you go, if the price is right then can buy la. Make sure its the kind of warranty that you are paying for.

DC fever has a shop in Causeway bay. It is in this currently being renovated building opposite Ikea. The building also has toys r us.. so if you ask around where TRU is, you should be able to find the building. Go up to one of the top few floors (check the directory) where they sell computers and the shop is there.

Sorry I can't be more specific with the name of the building as I do not have my HK map.

better check with customs and iras, i heard that goods bought for personal use may be subject to GST if the value is above a certain amount.

BTW, I bought it at Man Shing Camera in Mongkok.

Black and White is you have to pay GST for anything amounting to S$400 or more if I am not wrong. Ridiculous right?

I thought DSLR no international warranty? At least Canon n Nikon. I know lenses have, and even Canon flash only bought from USA is international.

But how do they know you bought over at HK or you already got the item when u leave SG?

You must discard your box or else they may charge GST if found. Usually I discard all boxes and bring a big camera bag to put all your new buys
