Rumours has it that Pentax is likely to release 2 more models in the *ist line in future to meet the demands of the mid-end and high-end market. Namely to replace the current MZ-3 and the MZ-S.

Let's hope it's not going to be called *ist-3 and *ist-S...

I heard from a friend whose cousins's wife's friend's brother-in-law's neighbour works in Pentax R&D that the successor to the *ist will be called #ist and @ist.

There is actually 2 *ist models that Pentax has officially announced - the *ist D digital SLR and the *ist film-based SLR. Unfortunately the film-based one is targetted at the low-end market.
