TCW, OP, CP..

EW-83H (24-105 F4 L) and EW-83J (17-55 F2.8 IS) hoods can be mounted on the 17-40, the latter is a better fit though..

EW-83E is for the original hood for 17-40L and 16-35 mk1, recommeded for usage on FF and maybe 1.3x fov. alternative hoods are suitable for people who are using 1.6x fov cameras..

just curious, will it fit the 16-35 mk1 as well? they share the same filter size.

yes, on 16-35 mk1 it will work too

on a side note, if you cant find those 2 hoods, the EW-83DII (24 F1.4 L) works for 17-40L as well.. or if you are feeling really Rich.. you can get the hood, EW-83G (28-300 F3.5-5.6 L)

but if you want to use a deeper hood like EW-83F (24-70 F2.8 L).. vignetting will occur.
