Default Louisburgh, Ireland

I'm currently working on a Geology mapping project in Ireland, and managed to snap some nice shots of the beautiful landscape surrounding Louisburgh, Ireland (the tiny town that I'm staying in).

Just posting the first 5 shots. More to come. C&C welcome.

(PS: The weather is NOT usually this nice btw...)

#1:

Louisburgh Holiday Cottages - where I'm staying at. Not this particular cottage though.

#2:

Side view of the cottage, juxtaposed against the dramatic skies.

#3:

Walking boots drying out in the sun...

#4:

The local "fire station". I'm not even sure if it's still in use and not sure I'd trust it, with such a "cute" painted sign....

#5:

St Patrick's Church, Louisburgh. The local church. This was unfortunately a cloudy day when I took the shot...

Will post more shots of scenery around Louisburgh soon! Hope you enjoy it....

prefer this to most shots hovering around the chunky buildings of rome, venice, london and paris where tourists are.

such simplicity.

thanks! am quite lucky to be here as the scenery is really breath-taking on nice clear sunny days and being able to drive around this area as well.

Ireland, a nice country to visit.
Was there some 6-7 years ago.
Wish I had a DSLR with me at that time.

A couple more shots as promised. Had to rush out of the house one day around 8pm, cos there was such a beautiful sunset and drove like crazy to take these shots...

#6

Croagh Patrick. Regarded as the Holiest mountain in Ireland.

#7

Clare Island. One of the many islands in the area. The Atlantic Ocean lies just west of Clare Island.

Up next will be the "water" series.

C&C welcome and appreciated!

The view on the drive to Leenane was simply breathtaking. This was a shot of Glencuillin Lough, one of the many lakes we drove by....
