i think its a design constraint left down by the SLR..due to the 35mm film roll..just my guess..

Well, very long ago there are these Rolleiflex SL2000F and 3003 had shutter release both on the left and right side, so can consider design for left and right handers. The overall the bodies look like a small medium format camera rather than the conventional look of SLR.

Rollei doesn't use the standard format 35mm films, IIRC..
Hence making the winder easy to design regardless left or right..

No, Rolleiflex SL2000F and 3003 are using the standard 35mm films. Very advance concept at that point of time, with a build-in 3 fps winder, vertical and horizontal finder, and interchangable magazine.

Nowadays most mouse buttons can be programmed the other way round. By default its right button select because majoirty are right handed. But for camera, snapping a photo does not need a master hand and its costly to redesign and sell 2 versions, hence they are all right handed shuttered.

cheers

If you're implying the mac mouse has only one button, i suggest you go read up a little more on the latest model.
