taken on expired mitsibishi iso 100 film sold to me by nicekit
photoshop action for crossprocessing employed, along with some contrast/sharpening adjustments
just a few questions, because i used my neighbourhood photolab
was charged $9 for developing + scan into cd

but the quality of the scans are as follows:
1230 pixels width
838 pixels height
900 pixels/inch

is this acceptable? not sure if i'm getting very grainy outputs because of the expired film
or because of bad scanning

thanks for any help in this
all c&c welcome, heh

hmmm
go to tripleD at burlington square...
for a negative processing is 3 dollar
5 dollar for scanning
and u get a standard 4Base scanning
1840x1232

btw expired film doesnt mean u get grainer picture

take the same film and rescan it at tripleD
u will get a better result, i think

and nice shoot
u want somemore mitsubishi?
i have some left

i really like the gloominess.
#1, #3, #7.
i dun think lomos are meant for big blow ups, if grain is not noticeable its okay.
more for small coffee table book, hides the flaws.

Quote:
Shay Collings, Feb 04, 2007; 04:03 p.m.
Labs using Fujifilm Frontiers will offer (well maybe not offer but be capable of) three types of film to CD resolution
- 1Base JPEG = 640x480 'email' quality scan - 4Base JPEG = 1840x1232 'roughly about 3-4 MP I think' - 16Base JPEG = 3000x2000 'about 9MP' - This can be expensive because it can take 10-20mins to scan the film.
Anyone who says that the is a noticeable difference between them is wrong in my opinion (I work on a frontier 40hrs a week). The only difference between the film and the digital file is caused by the person processing it. Colour, Density (Brightness), frame positioning and shadow/highlight correction are all done by the Photolab Tech as the film is scanned. If you are really concerned about colour, shadows etc. Ask for them to scan the film to CD with NO colour corrections, trust me they won't mind :-)
taken from here, hope this help.
