I have the above film camera. But the mirror is not functioning now.
Kindly advise what I can do with it. Thank you so much. |

I tend to look for Steven from Camera Hospital (in Sunshine Plaza) for my camera problems.
Especially the old manual ones... |

sounds like it needs a general servicing. Check the curtain position... if the slit is visible, nudge it gently with your fingernail to the left. If the mirror comes down ... definitely a general servicing. The second-curtain needs to close completely before the mirror comes down. However, due to grit/dirt/oil drying out on the shutter pivots ... sometimes this does not happen.
common problem with old horiz curtain driven cameras like spotmatics and even Leica-M. Most shops can do an overall servicing. Expect to spend about $100-150. |

Yes, I try many times but the mirror never comes down.
Is it general servicing ? Is it worth having the camera repair ? or get a second hand spotmatic model ? Please share. Thanks. |
