    Default Getting a new DSLR

    Hi friends,

I remember i had the dilemma of whether to get a dslr or not. I think many photography newbies also had this dilemma before.

Today, I was browsing through flickr to get some inspiration and also to learn some tricks from other people's works. Notice some of the great shots were taken with a prosumer camera, some even with a PnS camera.

This reminds me that it is really "all depends on skills", if not "80-90% depends on skills". camera made is secondary...

    check this one:

this gentleman used a sony dsc-h1 to take many good shots...
    enjoy!

there are big diffs bet slrs and PnS cams
definitely much more flexibility and more manual functions
now's prob the time to get a dslr, cos the lower-end 1s come cheap (cheaper than some compacts) for under 1k
and there's always room to expand, like get more lenses, speedlights etc.

DSLR is the flexibility. if the size is the problem. get D40. it is very small.

I'm also very tempted to get a DSLR especially when the new models are launched, old models go on discounts.

However, buying it is only the first step, must consider the whole package, dry cabinets, lenses, external flashes etc all the toys. Money to buy, place to store.

But if you like the hobby, it will be worth it. Some personal satisfaction, money cannot buy.
