Lightbulb B&S: Lenses and Flashes by Mount Type

Do you think it's better to categorize the posts in Buy and Sell: Lenses and Flashes by mount type?

That means having specific subsection like:
- Canon Mount
- Nikon Mount
- Others

That will probably make it easy for buyers and sellers alike to trade their wares.

Just a thought.

:Later,
lenses maybe, flash?

btw, sounds kinda selfish rite... only Canon, Nikon, then others...

but think about it...

If we have...

Canon
Nikon
Sony/Minolta
Leica
Pentax
M42

so on & so forth... gonna be very very messy...

Flash applicable to Canon goes to the Canon subsection, Nikon to Nikon's and so on lor.

I know there are others out there but IMHO, Nikon & Canon make up a big chunk of the market out there. Lumping the rest as Others is to avoid making things messy. Of course, if the Sony/Minolta crowd is big enough, then surely a section specific to them can/should be considered.

I think it is a great idea, especially where 3rd party lenses are concerned as one doesn't have to click at a thread to find out what mount the lens is for.

well, that will mean more 'manpower' needed already...

nevertheless, these have been suggested a few times...

If the buyers and sellers take the effort to describe the item better in the title the problem should be solved in the above scenario.

True in a sense but not as efficient as I hope/wish it would be. Try browsing through the B&S Lens & Flashes section with an eye on Canon mount lens for example. You'll have to go through each and every thread's title, scanning whether it's for Canon and if you feel it is, then you check the details. An additional time waster is when the thread you checked turns out to be for a different mount (seller forgot liao).

Note that not every buyer (in my case) has a specific lens in mind. Even so, one might encounter difficulties in doing a search in the B&S: Lenses and Flash due to a number of factors (for example, try searching 24-70. It doesn't return anything). That is why, IMHO, a subsection might be beneficial to the user community.

I agree! Sony A100 doesnt work with some older Minolta flashes from what i see. It's easier for people who dont know what mount it's suitable for them but by knowing the model number.
