Hi guys,
many of you might noe, i just bought my camera tru COMEX last day. Yesterday night i was shooting photos with my flash opened for about 50shots. Every shots, flash was fired. When i finished shooting, i closed the flash by pushing it back. But today, i wanted to use it at home with flash, it's not working anymore!!! I sent to the service center at Orchard just now and they called me and told me that the flash bulb had blown!!! Replacing it will cost me $80. Choiceless, i agreed and they proceed... ![]() Bro and sisters, do you think the "Spring" of the A100 is too powerful because when you push the flash down, it will "tak" back pretty loud. I think that's the reason why... When the bulb is hot, dont shock it. I had learnt my experience. ![]() |

Why in the world do you agree to pay to have the flash bulb replaced if they provided you a low quality one in the first place? The flash is designed to be able to work much more than what you have described. You have been had, and I would suggest that you demand them to have it replaced without cost, assuming that what you were told is correct.

If it's within warranty, they should repair it, unless they can prove that you physically damaged the flash tube?

![]() I am one of those people who abuse the pop up flash as well... I think I'd take care when I close it back down. Sorry to hear about the incident though , and thank you for the information.

I don't understand it. Why do you need to pay? Shouldn't it be covered under the terms of warranty. Maybe you care to elaborate as I know Sony don't cover for external flash only.

they always quote a price, but in the end it'd likely be free when they realise its under warranty. something i always have issue with with their process.

Should be free within warranty period unless there are sign of physical damage. Talk to them nicely if they insists on payment.

This is the first time i hear flash bulb blown after approx. 50 shots. Sony better quitely replace it for u free, otherwise they risk the reputation if u blow up the issue.
![]() To me the flash shouldn't be blown after 50 shots. so if u didnt physically damage it, they must do it for free. You have all the support here bro, dont worry. ![]() |

no way 50 flashes even at full flash for the built in flash will blow the tube.
I have tried shooting a studio session using 5600 flashes and using the built in flash to trigger the 5600 wirelessly and shoot more than 300 shots in 1 day never have any problem. But then it is on 7D. A-100 should not have any different. If it is issue with the bulb, they should change it for free if it is within warranty, but if you have damage it one way or another, they will charge you as the warranty don't cover misuse or user error. Regards, Hart |

Im back! Great thing is that i dont have to pay any $! I have double check with the lady she said my camera was in warranty. But i asked her why did some one called me that day. She said maybe the technician didn't know it was In warranty.
3 cheers!!! hurray! hurray! hurray! BTW, just now i went to took some nightshots, i felt the camera was super hot and it's coming out very sharp "eeeeee" sound. After that, in a middle of 30seconds shutter, the screen prompt me "Camera Overheat , Let it cool" or something like that. It went off after few seconds as i didnt get to read it clearly cause im a distance away. After awhile, i turn it on and it worked again.... Does this happen to you??? |
