Thread: Bed bugs

  1. #1

    Default Bed bugs

Spotted two on the floor trying to invade my room. Think they smuggled in one of the boxes when i shifted house. (my previous place was horrible to call a home)

How to kill them without calling in the exterminator? (as the last resort)

Lots of ways. Google it. One method I recall involves wrapping the bed in plastic so that they eventually run out of food and die. That might take some time though. Other methods involve powders and liquids and stuff like that.

Local solutions? i googled, seems like one good source for info, but its for overseas.
I wonder if our enterprising countrymen has better solutions.

Remember when i was younger about 10 or 15yrs ago, once my bedframe n mattress infested wif bed bugs i got so irritated i decided to get rid of it once n for all.........so when ever i see one i smashed them but was thiking killed them still got their eggs n next generation so think like that will be very busy............ finally i came up wif burning them to wipe out them once n for all... hahahaaaa...... i remove the bedsheets take out my mattress at side of it got the gap or seam i pry the gap then use the lighter to burn along the seam of my whole mattress without burning my mattress

As for my wooden bedframe got those type of holes for me to place or **** the barricade i remove it then i gas the hole wif the gas from my lighter the set fire into the hole cos holes n gaps is where their home n nest are.

I repeated them for 2 or 3 days .........Finally able to sleep in peace! Till now i m free of bed bugs!

No need to exterminator save $$$. one lighter 50cents enough use a few time still got left over!

Was told that either a durian husk or a soursop leaf put on the bed is quite effective. (Personally I would use the soursop leaf because I hate the smell of durians) Also, bedbugs like moisture and darkness and opening the window and letting sunlight in every day helps a lot also.

Some pest control companies today use a product called Cryonite, which is simply carbon dioxide sprayed over the room or into crevices and this both suffocates pests and kills them by freezing. Going by this theory, one could discharge a carbon dioxide type fire extinguisher at every corner of the bed. But this is NOT proven, just an idea I had, no guarantee it would work, and also suffocation could happen if you don't get out of the room soon after doing that.

Wonder why you post this in so many other topics? Website doesn't load and URL doesn't make sense.

Couldn't it be one of your GFs brought the bed bugs to your bed?

i thought the war was over...then i spotted 2 little ones and an adult, killed all of them. Decided to throw my mattress away. Its a lousy cheap thin one anyway. I havent got bitten recently as i tried not sleeping in my room for at least a week now. Trying to starve them out so i can kill them in broad daylight.

Insecticides and the green can Vsafe doesnt seem to work, sunning doesnt seem to work either. Neither does starving them, read somewhere they could live up to a year without food source. Dammit.

Anyone know where i can get those bedbug killing liquid? Supermarkets don't seem to carry them, havent seen them in sale so far. Specialized item?
