Dunno why they must overlap the focal range for 3 lenses. Kinda waste. I guess the 18-250mm shld be enuff. The one I'm looking for from Tamron
. I'll wait for pricing and review first, anyway. |

The DT 16-105mm F3.5-5.6 sounds like a replacement kit lens.

it'd be a very solid kit lens! if its cz optics then the range is already better than 16-80... wonder about image quality and AF

No blue mark... no CZ...
besides that, y dun they have 55-200 f2.8 instead? since others already have 50-150 f2.8 already.

Hiee All,
Consumer who are not that savvy about f-numbers like most of the people here. What they want to have is coverage - having already getting those clean enough higher ISO and antishake. THey dont need the f2.8 that most advance amatuers call for.... And these main bulk of people who buy these lens are people who make up volume that enables the price of bodies to come down. ![]() 1. DT 16-105mm F3.5-5.6 - covers 24-150 range 2. DT 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 - in place of the usual 28-300 F3.5-6.3 in the full frame consumer lens range 3. DT 55-200mm F4-5.6 - in place of the usual 75-300 f4-5.6 in the full frame consumer lens range Last edited by sulhan; 6th September 2007 at 09:55 AM. |

These are probably high quality consumer lenses... expect prices above $700 and they fill a very important niche - prosumers who do not or cannot pay for the G lenses or the f/2.8 lenses... these represent very good bang for buck and once u lock in users with a few of these high quality lenses, u've locked in your consumer base... we're all in the same boat right? With superb KM optics... we're just waiting for the next big 'un from SONY... and it has arrived...

FF for 16mm... u know how huge the front element will be plus it's a 7X zoom... the lens will be so huge, it won't be a kit lens anymore...

will all these lenses work on the old alpha 100 Series camera. Hopefully sony will try to make lenses from alpha 100 to work on alpha 700 as well as bringing downside compatible between 100 and 700 series just like what nikon do to some of their slr cameras. So as people will be willing to invest money on their dslr cameras. |
