Wow.. looks good.. can really see that Panny really put in lots of effort to try to capture the DSLR market share. not bad not bad.. i believe the 'feel' is very close to FZ50 which i really miss it. The handling & operation of FZ50 is much better than some of the DSLR. tilting LCD is a killer.. Got Face detection some more.. interesting interesting... Hmm... heart itchy itchy le.. ha ha...

Let's hope they will produce more lens with more reasonable price.. Lens is very important neh... ha ha..

.... crazy right? The contrast AF looks good but ONLY with those 2 lens???? common.... it should support all 4/3 lens and like that I will dump my e330 for it in a heartbeat, provided they have cheap body only option.

let's hope there will be a firmware update for all ZD 4/3 lenses to be compatible with the L10 LV contrast AF system...

looks like it will be a sub $2k camera with kit lens...

Probably firmware-crippled.

I believe I saw US$1299 earlier today and the DMC-L1 is now US$1499, down from US$1999.

It seems odd that the improved AF system is restricted to a couple of lenses since they have so few available.

Another reason, of course, would be the incorporation of Mega OIS ...... which also makes the Leica lenses MEGA BIG compare to the ZD ......

The features set in the DMC L10 looks great, full time LV AF, swivel LCD, Leica lens .... but ...personally, just my own personal opinion .... buying a camera with the same name as microwaves, cookers, torchlights ...... maybe Panasonic should consider another name for their higher end photographic products .......

I mean, this is one Panny I really wouldn't mind owning ....... still .... I'll prob stick with Olympus and maybe keep some Leica lens when I start hitting the jackpot ....

there already is...the Lumix brand is meant for the digital cameras lineup.

but Panasonic being a huge company that has spent ALOT of money on their Panasonic branding, it would hurt for them to put the badge on.

Toyota also huge company ......

If I were Panny, I would seriously consider using "Lumix" (or some other name) for their high end and maybe "panasonic" for their consumer models ...

They were also in electronics; and they used "Technics" for their hi-fi equipment and National/Panasonic for thie consumer models .... which is why I find it difficult to buy a "panasonic" high end photographic equipment ..... my hifi kakis sure will find many ways of making jokes out of it ....

Technics branded equipment wasn't bad. It just wasn't great. They were always a second to Sony and since Sony has been making more mistakes, Matsushita/National/Panasonic has been gaining strength.

Their choices make a lot of sense. I had a cordless phone that was quite good and of course, it was very reliable. I did change out my Panasonic rice cooker for a Zojirushi but I trust Panasonic in almost everything they do now.

I would suffer embarrassment, if I had a Toyota product, though.

Isn't Panny the largest consumer electronics company in the world today, based on market capitalization (how'dya think they got Leica on board?)?

(What's wrong with Toyota anyway?)

Hi bro,

Ha ha.. interesting topic...
But for me, brand name is not so important.. Canon also produce photocopier, printer, calculator etc... They use the same name for their camera & lenses too..
Somemore Panasonic is currently trying to build their brand name in DSLR market... give them sometimes, few years later, who knows ppl will be proud of owning a PANASONIC DSLR...

My only concern is the name is too long.. ha ha Kidding kidding...
