i heard some advertisements of Pentax's new Digital camera on sale at the Comex booth over the radio. I am wondering if they might be selling any lenses over there during the fair.

Thinking of getting the 50mm f1.4. Any possibilities that it might be offering at a better price?

I doubt so, Shirio's prices for lenses are not really good at expo. If they have offers it is usually for SLR kits n compacts.
Unless...they change their mkting strategy this time round.

Their ad says $4699 for (normal) Pentax K10D body + DA* 16-50 + DA* 50-135 bundle. Not sure if they're willing to sell the DA*s separately. Even if they do, the two DA*s come to $3k+.



The normal K10D kit is selling at SRP $1699 ONLY... wow "great savings" indeed. Think I'll skip this "deal of a lifetime"

K10D Kit has a retail price of $1699 ever since it's launched here in SG, we've love to see the price fall off abit (as in many other countries), but sad to see its price still remains the same as over 9mth back

It's an okay deal if consider getting the 75-300 at $199, and probably some freebies. We'll have to go there and find out.

As to the two DA* lenses, or well, they only got 10 sets to sell, probably that's why the high price. Maybe they'd lower the price a bit on the last day if not many sold during the first three days Oh btw, minus the normal K10D camera, the price is about the same as you can get from HK


The M40 deal is quite good though, along with a Digital PhotoFrame, it's only less than $440! Some might be interested in this one I guess

CP was selling K10D + 18-55 + lots of extras eg. spare batt, mem card, camera bag etc. for under $1.5k. Compare that to "GREAT SAVINGS" price of $1699 at COMEX.

This Pentax "GREAT SAVINGS" exclusive deal is by "Manly Departmental Store". Never heard of them, but smells like some 'chop carrot' fleecing outfit along Orchard Road. Their definition of "GREAT SAVINGS" = SRP price. I wonder if the sales goon will tell you the prices don't include GST when you pay?

Looks like I'd rather wait... Let the prices settle down before picking up that 50-135

It's similar with Sony, Canon and Nikon lah. Not great deals from them on dSLR cameras either. You can also get those S/C/N cameras in stores for better prices

Does anyone know if this package still on ? The last time i asked, at the CP@MarinaSq, was quoted $1.5 for k10d kit + spare batt + memcard only.

I think it would be better if Shriro didn't waste money running the ad in the first place. Those "great savings" prices are a real turn off

Nikon is offering D40 at less than 1K, D40x at 12xx. Saw it on today papers.

They're supposed to entice people to go there... putting up SRP prices and passing off as "GREAT SAVINGS" just isn't very encouraging to make a trip down Suntec
