Do be careful of exposure issues when shooting black-and-white cats (and anything else for the matter). You've got some awful blown-outs in the highlights (the white areas). Your first pic is a clearest example of how bad it can get.
Learn to get your basics (like metering) right. First. |

Also watch your shutter speed to minimise the handshake blur. Its good that youve gotten down low though as many people tend to take it standing up..
