I'm still interested... although sometimes it's hard to warrant buying an LF when I will hardly shoot with it.. I sold off my old Sinar F2 because of under utilisation.

What are you selling?

yeah I'm upgrading to a digital back but I have so much LF stuff

a toyo AII
rodenstock 90mm f/5.6
Schneider 110mm XL f/5.6
Nikon 150mm f/4.5
Caltar 210mm f/5.6
2 polaroid backs
lots of polaroid film (type 52,54,55,59,79)
fuji FP100C45 film (it's like type 79 but in a pack of 10 and you need a special loader for it)
fuji film holder for the FP100C45 film
Kodak Readyload pack + 50 pieces 100G readyload film

normal film loaders
2x grafmatic film loaders (6 pieces of film in one holder)
50 pieces Kodak 100NC
50 pieces Kodak 400NC

a Sinar F camera with 2 lens boards and longer focusing rail...

Also considering selling off my Mamiya 7 w 65mm lens...and RZ equipment including

RZ proII
65mm lens
110mm lens
100-200mm zoom
polaroid backs
film backs

and alot of Fuji Acros film 100 and 400 speed
and lots of Kodak 160NC and 400NC film

need to see if there's any point in selling though. not sure what the market rate is like nowadays

Why don't you just keep the LF and swap the lenses for digital ones instead?

RZ also can use digital back.

If you had bought them first hand to begin with, selling them now will be quite a big loss if you ask me. So unless you need the space and don't require them anymore, I suggest you just hold on to them.

For me, I kind of regret selling off my Sinar.

True... I sold my Sinar F2 with 210mm lens, film holders, etc etc for 1.7k if I remember correctly. Not bad considering I think I bought it at the same price.

If you are in tune with the concept of passing on photography skills to others and especially the young, I suggest you keep the set. There are people who are looking for contributing photographers to teach those who are keen to learn about analog and LF in a more structure way.

Also there are those who cannot afford to buy any of these precious equipment but wish to learn photography seriously but have no way out. As a season photographer one should be more happy when one is able to give back to society and help those who are in need of further knowledge especially in the area of analogy photography using view cameras.

Just my humble suggestions.

Good idea.
I won't mind meeting new friends and learning new ideas.
I could share a few tricks or two about LF photography.
The only thing about LFP is that the cameras are generally bulkier, however, the sight of a well taken 4x5 trans joy to behold. Definitely worth that extra effort.
I've 4 Sinars(1x F2, 2xP, 1x P2) and more than 10 lens and are still enjoy every moment using it.
The only issue about LF is getting the 4x5 films, especially Fuji's. The Kodak film are still available in Cathay and Ruby Photo.

Cheers

Do a search. There was this guy selling some expired Provia 100 recently. He may still have some. Bought some from him, film is ok.
Yea, the Provia100 is still my favourite 4x5 film, especially for long exposure.

Though some folks out ther are passionate to form and unite together to do specialised kind of documentary/commercial photography, I am keen to meet light minded photographers who have seen and done but willing to pass on the LF knowledge to younger or anyone keen to operate and work on an LF.

In the very near future, children in Primary and Secondary School will soon have very slim chance of touching an LF.
I am keen for further discussion for those who are interested to share what they already have and willing to take time off to give to those who are less fortunate than us.

Once you sell your LF equipment, you say good-bye to these precious stuff and the funny thing is "everyone knows more about digital than you do".

But when you talk about analogy and about using swing and tilt and the use of flash meters...bonk..!! there will be complete silence.

Can of cuz can, digital can do wonders, converting pixel into $$$$ p

film is for the traditionalist and purist, and one who seek enjoyment in the anticipation for a good result. digital is for the technocrat and lazy bugs..

I started trying out LF lately on pinhole camera (large format ones) and a set that a friend loan to me. The negatives/slides just blow me off......But I must admit that I am still very new to LF knowledge and really hope to learn from all the Qian Bei here. haha.....
Count me in if the outing is organised.

I'm interested in an outing too.
I started with digital cameras (Oly c8080 then to current e330) and then decided that I need to get back to film to get the basics right.
So have been shooting slides with my OM1n. The colours and tonality have blown me away, especially since I've been doing some prints.
Now itching to get my Kiev 60 cleaned up so that I can step up to medium format..
