    How many here are still serving and will ORD later this year ? Like those in sept and oct/nov ???

    No. I RODing. Not ORDing.

    ORD = Operationally Ready Date
    ROD = Run Out Date
    When you reach ROD, you will be placed on MR = Mindef Reserve

    The old term for ORD was ROD... but they changed that because when you ORD, you still have reservist... and so not really 'run out'.
    When you ROD nowadays, you're done...

    I am almost done with reservist... I even got an 'outstanding' on my conduct sheet during my NS days. But I think it is a terrible experience. For the nation, NS is a necessary evil. With the number of crows in the neighbourhood, we definitely need scarecrows... and lots of them. So, I support the policy. That's why I did it with enough conviction to get me through the years. But if you ask me if I will do it if I'm not forced to... the answer would be a resounding 'NO'.
