taken through glass in the zoo under rather poorly lit environment..

There is actually a recent thread on the same specie, but with an unhappy ending.

Good observation on the eyes, the whip snake has unique pupils that are horizontal, there are actually grooves along the front of its face that allows it to have quite a good vision.

Lol,i think i know why he feels it's fake,cause the horizontal pupils are open,which somehow i feel gives a empty feeling making it's eyes look fake although i known that this species has horizontal pupils rather than the traditional veritcal pupils we're used to
