Background too messy, object of interest does not stand out, composition not so right, object abit blur.

just my opinion.

Sharp pics. A better angle or a tighter crop on the 2nd picture will look nice. I was there too, it was such a hot day!

Friend, it is a public place not a private party. I was there, it was a very hot day and a lot of people were there having fun.

I am giving MY opinions since the thread-starter ask for opinion. So whats has it got to do with public or private or hot day or alot people having fun. And I am not here to judge whether it is right or wrong, good or bad photograph BUT only MY opinion.

Anyway, my opinion is on the 1st picture (only saw 1 picture when I replied).

To thread-starter, please don get offenced by my post....

Cheers

No problem...shoot more, and by no time, you will see improvement...

I am not a good photographer but as a viewer, I can see....you may ask yourself what you want the viewer to see in the photograph...make the object of interest STAND OUT...

Saw your reply in Shutt3rbug's thread...did you study his/her photographs, notice any difference between yours and his...by the way, I do not know Shutt3rbug in person.

Cool Re: Waterfest on the bay 2007

Hi there,
You're at an event with lots of action, colour and people, you can potentially make lots of great pictures here.. but make sure that the pictures you make draw the attention of the viewer. They're many ways to do this; eg. having a compelling subject, cropping your picture etc. and most importantly what I find most useful when taking pictures at such an event is to be as close to the action as possible.. be right in front.. be in the face of the action!
