Thumbs up Wonderfully captured by Lawrence Ng of 36frames.com

I had asked Lawrence to shoot my tea ceremonies, and these are just a few of the many beautiful photos we received (with my own commentary):

Bubbles!

Great timing led to the perfect placement of the bubbles, through which you can still see my niece's lovely features. While most amateurs would've made this shot flat by opening the aperture too much, Lawrence got it just right with the perfect DOF. (f10?)

Chow down!

The colors came out well considering the lighting available and the conditions of the room. Again, impeccable timing, especially for my hyperactive niece! The negative space over her head worked, because putting her front and center of the shot would've taken your eyes away from her expression and onto the food. Having 80% negative space seems to be en vogue now, but it is perfect for this moment.

The money shot

I love this angle. If I had shot this myself, I would probably have tried to achieve perfect symmetry, but I prefer the way Lawrence got it. Plus, he chose to my husband's arms over mine; this is not just a photo, but its own commentary on culture diversity and harmony.

Thanks very much, Lawrence, and wonderful job!

yo! i don't think so. yeah, this images might not look fantastic to some of us, but put yourself in the wedding couples' view, Lawrence recorded images of them, their family, its not something everyone could do. Look at the expression of the kid in the 2nd photo, is wonderful, doesn't it? i dont think lawrence would want to self ads on this forum ba, i think he would rather self ads on wedding websites like sg brides lo...

Triazolium, thank you for sharing!

The TS talks like she knows photography in the way she described the photos. Seems odd someone would load up 3 pictures just to thank their photographer. Blatant advertising IMO.

First shot is nice. 2nd and 3rd does not work for me. Angle and composition could be much better.

Hey guys, this post was posted by someone whom Lawrence did a shoot for. I do not appreciate the accusation of posting under another username to self advertise. We've posted our wedding works here before and it was under our own name. Why don't you just check out the poster's previous posts ? She's definately not a new nick.

It seems quite a long shot to throw such an accusation when you can easily look at the poster's profile and check out her website and posting history.

The selection of the photos were made by the poster, those are the ones which speak to her. To check out more of our work, just follow the link on my signature. Thanks.

edit : didn't realise my signature is gone. anyways, I'm sure you know how to find us.

You're welcome, han! You're right- if he wants to do self-promotion, he would do it on wedding websites, not Clubsnap.

Then I guess I must be an odd person. I am thankful to Lawrence for doing a great job. So you are saying that a satisfied client cannot give testimonials? BTW, I do know photography because I am an events photographer myself.

You must be jealous or have never received positive testimonials before!

Kenso, pull that stick out of your ass and RELAX! If you don't like the photos, put up constructive C&C, or leave the thread.

So disappointing... All I wanted to do was showcase a few of my favorite photos taken by Lawrence, and people have to be so negative. If you are going to give stupid comments, you'd be better off keeping quiet!

Shouldn't you be telling Lawrence then that you liked his work he did for you than to tell everyone here?

If you had posted your own photos for critique, fine. You did not. And you want critique of the pictures not shot by you. Get real, girl.

Maybe I should post some of my neighbours photos and tell everyone what a genius he is and maybe you all could chip in to critique his masterpieces?

So why post other's photos? Did he give you permission to do so? Or did he ask you to do so? You want us to critique his photos? Then why don't he ask for critique himself?

Such a simple thread like that ppl also want to quarrel... I think the photos are fine. Maybe it meant nothing to us but the thread starter likes it very much & gives his/her comments. Nothing wrong with that...

In Clubsnap, many threads turned to arguement threads in the end.

I like Ansel Adam's photos very much. I'd look like a fool posting Ansel A's photos here and tell everyone what a master he was and then wait for critiques to his photos. What idiots do that?

dear Kenso-san,

picture this,

a boy snap a photo of his parent, this photo is a moment recorded by their child, and this means everything to his parent, and if the excited parent share this photo with us, isn't it great?

Triazolium shares her joy, her family with us, isn't it great?

yes, please, please share your neighbour's photographs with everyone here too!

enjoy your day, i need to get back to work.

Yes. Fine. Share it with us by all means. Just don't tell us who shot it(with blatant website advertising) and if the pictures aren't taken by you, don't ask for critiques in the wrong forum.
